Spinal and back pain rehab in Carlton North

Back and neck pain is the most common reason people come to see a physiotherapist in Carlton North. Our physiotherapists assess your whole spine rather than only the spot that hurts, so treatment addresses what is actually driving your pain.

We treat neck pain, upper back pain and lower back pain, from a sudden muscle strain to a long-standing chronic condition. Your physiotherapist takes a careful history, tests how your spine and the surrounding muscles move, and checks for red flags before any treatment begins. If a scan or a referral is warranted, we will tell you.

Treatment usually pairs hands-on therapy to ease pain and restore movement with a progressive exercise program that rebuilds strength and control. That combination is what stops the same injury returning.

Dhiv Naidoo

Finding the source of your injury

Our clinicians are skilled at understanding the importance of using investigations like X-rays, CT scans and MRIs when needed, rather than just treating a condition blindly.

Dhiv Naidoo is our Carlton North musculoskeletal physiotherapist. He began his career at the Northern Hospital, rotating through advanced practice clinics and working within an interdisciplinary team alongside surgeons, doctors and other allied health professionals. That early exposure to complex cases shaped him into a strong diagnostician and problem-solver.

With more than eight years across hospital and private practice, Dhiv is well placed to take a fresh look at a complex or longstanding condition — particularly if you have already seen someone else and haven’t improved.

Dhiv’s qualifications include:
Master of Physiotherapy Practice, La Trobe University.
Bachelor of Health Sciences, La Trobe University.

Dhiv values hands-on treatment to relieve pain and restore movement when it’s clinically indicated, and he also designs progressive, gym-based programs to help you rebuild strength and resilience. Sometimes that means one approach, sometimes the other, and often a combination — always guided by your needs and goals.

For Dhiv, listening is as important as technical skill. He takes the time to understand your life and what you want to get back to, so treatment isn’t just about a joint or a muscle.

Take a look at Dhiv’s profile to learn more about his experience and approach.

Dhiv works alongside founder and director Jimmy Goulis and Danny Nguyen, so whatever you’re dealing with, there’s a clinician here with the right depth of experience.

TAC, WorkSafe or DVA patient?
There are no out-of-pocket fees

Patient using forearm crutches during TAC and WorkSafe funded rehabilitation in Carlton North

You will not need to pay any out-of-pocket fees for our physio service if you are a TAC, WorkSafe or DVA patient. If you have a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) — formerly known as a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan — we claim your Medicare rebate of $63.40 on the day, leaving you a small gap fee to pay on the day.

Injured in a transport accident? You do not need to wait for a claim number to start. Under current TAC policy, physiotherapy can begin within 90 days of your accident without prior approval, so you can be seen the day after an accident and start treatment straight away. You do not need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist under TAC either.

Already seeing someone else? You are not locked in. You can move your TAC or WorkSafe treatment to Pollinate Health at any stage of your recovery, and we will liaise with your case manager and your current provider so the handover is straightforward.

We handle the paperwork. Claim numbers, case managers and approval letters are a lot to manage on top of an injury. Our admin team lodges and follows up your claim, corresponds with your case manager, and requests further approval when it is needed after the first 90 days — or if more than six months have passed since your last funded session. You focus on your recovery; we will deal with the system.

Your treatment is with an experienced clinician who has worked across hospital and private practice, combining hands-on therapy with a progressive rehabilitation program built around what you need to get back to — work, sport, or simply getting through the day without pain.
